Create a Space

For this project you are taking an existing space (bedroom, living room, etc.) and changing as much about the room as possible.

Use the following skills to make changes:

1) Selections

Take objects from other photos and bring them into your photos. Use a wide variety of selection tools.

Make sure your selections are sharp with no missing portions or left over areas. Use the burn and dodge tool and feather to help place your objects seamlessly. Use Paste into selection, or delete selections to paste scenes into your windows, and try putting an effect over the window area.

2) Free Transforming

Free transform objects to properly place them on tables. Free transform Rugs to place them on the floor. Change all T.V. screen, pictures on the wall, books and magazine covers using free transform.

3) Colour Adjustments

Change the colours of your room wherever possible. Keep in mind a colour scheme in order for your room to match. Remember to use the colour replacement brush and not a normal brush or you'll lose the objects' shape and texture.

Make changes to the object's hue and saturation and colour curves in order to match its colouring to the rest of your room.

4) Retouching

Use the clone stamp or healing  brushes to get rid of parts you don't want. Use the pattern stamp to change surfaces.

Start by finding a picture that is a minimum of 8mp or larger and is crystal clear. (In google images click larger than 8mp)

Save the original untouched picture in a file called "Create a Space" on your desktop.

Open your photo in Photoshop and rename the file yourname_space.

Make a duplicate of the background and begin working.

***Each time you add something new create a new layer and name the layer.
